Many wineries, especially along Cayuga and Seneca Lakes, are pet friendly!!! Due to allergies our other guests may have, our drivers would be more than happy to drive your vehicle so that you can bring your furry family along with you! Most drivers will even let your dog stay in the car and catch a much-needed nap while you stay in a winery for lunch (happened to Nicole last summer!) so make sure to ask for Nicole when you book us to drive YOUR vehicle!
Keuka Lake is a nice wine trail to visit if you haven’t been there before or are returning to the Finger Lakes. The wineries aren’t as busy as they are on Cayuga or Seneca Lakes, so it is the perfect place to go if you would like a quieter atmosphere. The Wine and Cheese Lovers event on Keuka Lake is on Saturday, April 26th from 10am to 5pm. Experiences range from owner/winemaker led tastings, behind the scenes tours, vertical tastings and tasting unreleased wines. The purchase of a ticket includes a visit to six different preselected wineries, each with a light food pairing with cheese being the star ingredient (catered by Lake Life Catering) as well as three other wine tastings. Some of the best ideas come from wineries, whoever would have thought that pickles and wine go together?!?! Toast Winery on the west side of Seneca Lake has a wine and pickle pairing that is available every weekend, Friday through Sunday, through April! No tickets are needed and no reservations are required for groups of seven or less. Just let your driver know that Toast is on your list!
One of the most popular events on Cayuga Lake is the Wine and Herb. This fun event is offered two weekends: April 25th through 27th and May 2nd through 4th. Each ticket offers an opportunity to take home a potted herb and veggie seedling featured in all the food samples along with a matching recipe collection. Ten wineries are participating this year and each one offers a savory dish paired with a wine, along with up to three other wines to sample. Did you know that not only does the Finger Lakes have great wine, but we have great cheese too? On Cayuga Lake, Lively Run Goat Farm in Interlaken offers goat cheese for sample and purchase. Between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes, Muranda Cheese Company offers cheese tastings as well as their own wine which pairs delightfully with each savory bite. Shtayburne Cheese Farm is a Mennonite owned business that offers cheese and ice cream tastings. Also on Seneca Lake, Crosswinds Dairy Farm offers cheese, ice cream and yogurt tastings. Make sure to put one of these locations on your itinerary to add a special sweet and savory snack during your special day!
Like wine? Like comfort foods? Then this is the event for you! Friday, March 21st through Sunday, March 23rd, Seneca Lake hosts the Winter Warm Up and Wine event, which pairs a wine up with a soup, pasta or other comfort food for those chilly March days! With thirteen participating wineries, get in the mood for spring with all of the comfort foods. Each ticket allows entry to all thirteen wineries which offer a food item paired up with a special wine, plus three additional wine samples at each winery. This event smells the BEST, it’s a great getaway for the bacon lover in your life! March 22nd and 23rd are the dates for this event this year, which is always a fun one! Your ticket earns entry for both days to all ten participating wineries. Each winery offers a bacon-inspired dish paired with a complementing wine in your souvenir wine glass! You also receive three other wine tastings at each winery to round out the tasting experience. Upon check in at your starting winery, you also receive a recipe collection book of all the delicious bites you will be having all day long! Did you know that Grapevine Country Tours is partnered up with different hotels in the area? If you would like to stay on Seneca Lake, you may call the Inn at Glenora (Wine Cellars) and book your five hour wine tour at the same time that you book your suite! If you are looking to stay in the historic town of Geneva, The Inn on the Lake offers a four hour wine tour that is paired up with a picnic basket if you choose. If Cayuga Lake is on your list, contact Glass Magnolia Bed and Breakfast; they offer a four hour wine tour. All of our tours are private tours so it is just your group and our driver and they are catered to what places you would like to visit based on your list or our driver can make suggestions based on what you enjoy for drinks and what kind of atmosphere you are looking for. A new and improved event on Cayuga Lake, Ports of Call ticket holders are granted access to all participating wineries, each one offering a food and wine pairing, three additional wine samples and a souvenir wine glass to commemorate your journey! Each winery plays host to a different country with their food pairing from crisp whites to robust reds and everything in between.
