The Experience

Grapevine Country Tours has always offered the experience of tasting the great wines of the Finger Lakes. On our tours, we like to share the area with you along with the history and the information about the wineries. The original concept has held true for 16 years now, we show the area and the wines to those who are interested in learning more from drivers who know the area and love it.

Private tours are totally customized to your wishes. You will not be accompanied by anyone other than the driver. These rates start at $275.00 per car, off-season. New York State demands that we collect sales tax for the tours and driver gratuity is greatly appreciated. Rates are based on the vehicle you reserve.  If you are out of the area, there may be an additional charge to cover fuel and driver time.

You are our special guest

We customize our tours to your wishes. We select wineries for their wines and the experience they provide. Hospitality is essential. Of course, if you have wineries that you wish to visit, that works also. Our drivers are knowledgeable about wines and wineries. They are courteous, informative and fun.

What to Expect on a Grapevine Country Tour

What is NOT included:

Driver gratuity— This is an indication of your appreciation to the driver for all that was shared and done
for you on the tour. It is suggested at 20% of the tour cost, but we feel that it is something that our guests should decide upon.

Tasting fees—We have agreements with some wineries that the tasting fee is complimentary for our guests. However, most wineries charge $3.00-$5.00 for a flight of wines ( a group of wines that you sample) Some wineries refund the tasting fee if you make a specified purchase.

Lunch———Our drivers make suggestions as to your options for lunch. You may make the choice when you are on a private tour. Usually, it is best for the driver to make the choice when it is a willing to join group.

Pricing:

This is determined by the number of guests, the time of the year and sometimes the day of the week. The specific rates are not listed here because there are so many variables. Give us a call and we can give you a quote.

Information needed to get a quote:

The date of the tour
The number of people in the group
The pickup location
The number of hours (most of our tours are 6 hours, but we often take requests)
The type of vehicle (see our vehicles button on the sidebar)
Any specific requests

The above information should be left on the answering machine, included in an email as well as added to the check deposit that we require. We will also require a cell phone number and email address so we are able to contact you if necessary as well as to send you an email confirmation. No email? Then we will send a written confirmation.

With no exception:
There will be no drinking of alcoholic beverages in our vehicles. It is illegal for the types of vehicles that we offer. Also, you will have a much more enjoyable day if you consume only at the wineries.
